Security deposits are holds, not charges
With the exception of a small verification fee (R47 in South Africa, $2.50 equivalent elsewhere), money is only captured if your host lodges a documented damage claim, and you see every item of it. If not, the hold is released automatically after your stay.
You always get a say
If a claim is lodged, you have a 72-hour window to review it, and if you disagree with any of the reported items, you can dispute them with your own evidence, before anything is charged.
Your data is protected
Your ID is used to confirm who is staying and to build your guest record. Payment details are stored by Stripe, a global payments provider; LekkerGuest never sees your card number.
Reviews are about behaviour, not revenge
Host reviews are structured, tied to verified stays, and moderated. One bad-faith review can't sink you, and great stays build a score that works in your favour.
